outlook 365 problem sync sent folder and contacts

Question

Hello,

I'm using Outlook 365 on mac and windows. My email address is IMAP account. When I'm using it on Mac or web version, the sent emails go to sent folder, however, when I use it on Windows sent emails go to "sent items folder".

Why there are two folders?

Is there a solution for this problem to have only one folder for sent emails ?

Moreover, I'm not able to sync the contacts on windows

As far as I know, the Sent items folder will be automatically created when Outlook cannot find the correct folder for sent items. For your current situation, I'd suggest creating an Outlook rule to specify manually the destination folder for the emails you sent from Outlook for Windows:

1. Locate the Sent Items folder, go to Home -> Rules -> Manage Rules & Alerts, click New Rule.
2. Select Apply rule on messages I send and click Next.
3. Select through the specified account, click specified and select your account.
4. Select move a copy to the specified folder, select the destination folder (Sent folder) for the messages you send.
5. Click Next continuously to proceed, specify a name for the rule if necessary. Select Run this rule now on messages already in "Sent Items", click Finish.

This is actually the by design behavior for IMAP accounts. See Sync basics - what you can and cannot sync.

Hello Yuki Sun-MSFT

I took a backup of my old email and when I restored it, only the inbox showed up and the sent email only showed up on the web.

On the application, it never appears, it only shows the number of emails.

You can see my problem in the attached screenshot.

Hello, did you check if are applied filters to this folder?

This options appears in left bottom of Outlook.
