Online Archive - Deleted Items folder

I have a customer who is trying to delete a folder from the Deleted Items folder in her Online Archive, but the folder comes back with Folder Name (1) (2) (2). She does not have Ligation Hold or Retention Hold enabled. Any ideas?

In order to better study your problem, I would like to confirm the following with you:

1.Whether the messages in the deleted items in the archive mailbox can be deleted normally？Are there any errors?

2.If the email is deleted in the Outlook client, will it be synchronized in OWA？

The messages are deleted but only the folder reappears with the same name but with parentheses for example Foldername (1) (2) (2). No errors or messages.

I thought the online archive is completely separate. Does it sync with the OST?

Does this user have the auto-expanding archive enabled?

Once the auto-expanding archive has created an auxiliary archive space, you can't delete folders in the online archive: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/autoexpanding-archiving?view=o365-worldwide
