Hi all, I'm sorry if the title looks stupid and make you confused.
Here my case : my environment active directory domain : mydomain.com
A workstation : computer.mydomain.com
A userdomain : user1@mydomain.com used to login and used computer.mydomain.com , so there is a user profile name "user1" in C:\Users

I deleted user1@mydomain.com , user cannot login to workstation anymore, it says "incorrect password"
I tried unplug network cable (so it will use cached credential) , also fail.

There is a email profile (Control Panel --> Mail) of user1 that I need to use (because I don't remember email password of email in this email profile - this is not our domain email)
I really need user1 can login to this workstation again and continue using old profile which has email profile above.

Can I recreate user1@mydomain.com and twist registry somehow to archive this ? Please give me some advice , thank you very much.

    hi,
it's impossible to create another account, since their SID are not same
what is your active directory version? if you have enabled active directory recycle bin, you can restore your deleted user account easily ..

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Q&A!

We'll need to know the security identifier (SID) of the temporary user account you're being signed into.

First, type “whoami /user" CMD command and press Enter. This command queries the system to tell you the SID of the current account.

We now need to make edits in the registry to recover the original profile. Editing the registry can be dangerous if you mess with the wrong thing, so please follow the instructions below carefully:

Hi, I'm sorry for late update, I tried and failed :

    • Recreated domain "user1" , login user1 on workstation
    • Folder C:\Users\user1.mydomain is created automatically
    • Folder C:\Users\user1 remains (it belongs to old user, which was deleted)
    • new user1 has SID : S-1-5-21-2254521154-3912369078-372980068-1165
    • old user1 has SID : S-1-5-21-2254521154-3912369078-372980068-1111
    • Workstation Outlook 2013
    • I login workstation as administrator , export registry : Computer\HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2254521154-3912369078-372980068-1111\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Profiles\Outlook
      (old user1 outlook profile registry)
    • I login workstation as new user1 then try to import above reg, but it says cannot import error accessing registry.
