We have some issues with decisions in the past.

Just to give you an idea:

DC's with DNS role, DHCP role and DFS namespaces.

Now I want to separate this, but I have one final question:

Can DNS be on the same server as a DHCP server. I think the best practice is no. But can it be problematic, those two processes?

Windows DHCP
Windows DHCP
Windows: A family of Microsoft operating systems that run across personal computers, tablets, laptops, phones, internet of things devices, self-contained mixed reality headsets, large collaboration screens, and other devices.DHCP: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). A communications protocol that lets network administrators manage centrally and automate the assignment of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses in an organization's network.

If DNS and DHCP services are on the same server, that is not a problem. If these are on different machines, it could be that you have an IP address conflict in which case you must change the IP of one of your servers.

Active directory integrated DNS should always be on same instance as domain controller. Put the other roles on other virtual machines.
