Outlook / OWA Address book - not all address list names are in german

Hi there,

some adress books have no longer have a german name. See the image. This is on Exchange Online, all users affected, Outlook version is irrelevant, happens in Outlook on the Web as well.

Can we change this?

Afaik there is no translation/multi-language support for address lists, so that's the expected behavior. If your tenant is German and all users prefer the language, you can rename any existing lists via Set-AddressList, but keep in mind this will affect the display names for all users.

The other side of the coin is the regional settings on the device/browser - depending on the language configured therein, some UI elements will be translated. But afaik this does not apply to Address list entries.

Hi @Philipp Beck ,

Agree with Michev that you would need to manually rename the default address lists that are now showing English using Set-AddressList if you want them to display in German.

As regards to the Contacts and Global Address List that are already show in German in your screenshot, based on my test, these are affected by the display language of Outlook desktop clients and the region configuration of user's mailbox.
