I am completely new to the Azure/Microsoft Admin role, and I am having trouble getting a new employee access to her computer. I have created her account in Azure Active Directory, everything seems fine and she is even able to log into Outlook from the mobile app. However she cannot log into her actual computer profile. Am I missing an important step somewhere? This is not a new device and was used by previous employees before.

To me it sounds like the reason you can login as the previous employee is because her windows profile is still on that pc. Sometime in the past, she logged into the computer through the domain. Then Windows created her profile. Once your profile is on a pc it doesn't matter whether the pc is on or off the domain.

Paul is right. Make sure the computer has joined the domain. It was on the domain when the previous employee used the pc but we're talking about Windows here. You never know. I always start from the bottom. I go from the simplest to the most difficult.

One quick check is to ping the pc's last know IP address or it's name from your computer.

Open the Command prompt and type ping youpcsipaddress. Hit Enter.

Is your new employee remote?

There are so many if this then that scenarios. We just need to find the right one.

So I do have "ALL" selected for "Users may join devices to Azure AD". And the profile that is currently on the computer is connected to the domain. Do I need to completely delete that profile off of the computer before it will allow me to add someone new?

The computer that the new employee is trying to use, is it on campus or remote?

Did you try to ping the computer from your computer?

There are quite a few things it could be. Check the obvious things, like, is the PC connected to the network? Is her AD account active? Is she trying to login to the domain or the pc itself? Are you able to remote into the PC and login with your user ID? IF we can figure out the area of the issue it will be easier to figure out.

It is connected to the network because I can still access the previous employees profile and log into it. Her AD account is active, and she is trying to log into the domain. And when I remote in, it does not allow my ID/password either. Seems to only allow the previous employees info.

You need to join the computer to AzureAD first. Also check these settings in Entra (AzureAD)
