IP Address is not received after PXE Boot

Hello,

Device is boot from PXE and it loads the boot image

Then it has to connect the deployment workbench.

But device receives below IP address

Ignoring IP Address 169.254.100.207 ZTIGather

IP Address = fe80::d159:2125:425d:64cf ZTIGather

apipa

m80sgen3

used ipconfig in the F8 command prompt and it returns correct IP address like 10.*.

Please let me know how to fix this issue.

Any thing to be changed in BIOS settings?

How to execute the LITETOUCH.wsf in the command prompt? so that the device connects to Deployment share and continue the OSD process

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

It's recommended to check your DHCP configuration, it seems the device cannot get a correct IP address from your DHCP.

We may also try to add the WinPE NIC driver to the boot image for the device.

I have imported the network driver into boot image and has the same behavior.

Compared DHCP scope between other sites. Everything looks fine.

how to make delay in the boot image to wait for some time to receive IP address?

so that device will connect to deployment share path

Regarding your question on executing the LITETOUCH.wsf in the command prompt, you can do so using the following steps:

Open the F8 command prompt on the device after it boots from PXE.

Navigate to the folder containing LITETOUCH.wsf using the command prompt.

Run the command 'cscript LITETOUCH.wsf' to execute the script.

This should start the LiteTouch Wizard, which will connect to the deployment share to continue the OSD process.

Is there any wait time in the LITETOUCH.wsf that I can increase to wait for more time. so that device will get IP address

I see the function is in ZTIGather.wsf. I do not see to give wait time here in the ZTIGather.wsf

To increase the wait time for the device to receive an IP address in LiteTouch Installation on a device that needs to be PXE booted, you may try to add or modify PXEBootDelay in the customsettings.ini file and specify the PXEBootDelay value.

Open the deployment share on the deployment server from where you are running the deployment.

Navigate to the MDT deployment share's Control folder, and open the customsettings.ini file for editing.

In the [Settings] section of the file, add or modify PXEBootDelay to specify the time to wait in seconds. For example, PXEBootDelay=30

Save and close the customsettings.ini file.

This should increase the wait time for the device to receive an IP address after PXE boot.

It happens after PXE boot. I do not see customsettings.ini in the boot image. it has only bootstart.ini.

I searched like PXEBootDelay in google and it does not return anything. It seems PXEBootDelay variable is not exist

The rules of the deployment share properties is the customsettings.ini file.
