how to use one Hyper-v host stored on a USB SSD from two workstations

I have a hyper-v host that is stored on an external USB-C chassis for m.2 SSD. I would like to be able to run the hyper-v host when I'm at work or at home. I could do this easily with vmware workstation, and would appreciate knowing how to do it using hyper-v. I find that if the USB-C is recognised as a different drive letter this really mucks up everything. As the config is not text, I'm wondering why hyper-v stores the drive details rather than having everything logically from the location of the host files.

Any advice welcome. I really need to be able to make the hyper-v host portable.

VMWare workstation is a type 2 hypervisor which runs on top of windows. Windows hyper-v is a type 1 hypervisor which runs directly on the hardware.

Its the same thing as installing windows on an internal disk, then removing that disk and installing it in a different computer and expecting it to work. If the hardware and firmware versions are identical it may work out for you.

Windows hyper-v and vmware workstation are not really comparable as I mentioned above.
