Continuous audio failure

This teams audio issue eludes me for months. The user will answer a call and within 5-15seconds the popup "Your microphone isn't working. Switch to a different device or try reconnecting this one" appears. The users audio works on web browser not on the application.

Here's the options I have tried to fix this problem. I have checked all the settings, I have check different types of headsets, I have cleared the cache folder, uninstalled. Restarting 'Windows Audio' service helps briefly but the user does not have administrative access. I've completely wiped the computer as well. I created a network account to test teams - my personal account worked, so did the end users (briefly). I attempted the same test on the end users network account and it failed again.

    Hi @Michael Speights

    First make sure you have updated the desktop client to the latest version, then try the following solutions:

    1. Before a meeting:

    Step1: Next to your profile picture at the top of Teams, select Settings and more > Devices.

    Step2: Under Audio devices, make sure your mic is selected from the Microphone dropdown menu.

    Step3: Select Make a test call to test your settings. Follow the instructions from Test Call Bot and record a short message. The message will play back for you. After that, you'll get a summary of the test call, and you can make changes in your device settings.

    1. During a meeting:

    Step1: In your Teams meeting window, select More options > Settings > Device settings.

    Step2: Under Microphone, make sure your device is unmuted

    And make sure your device is selected from the Microphone dropdown menu.

    If your microphone is not listed in the microphone drop-down menu, unplug it and plug it back in.

    3.Go to your Windows settings to make sure your microphone is enabled and unmuted:

    Step1.From Windows Start, search and select Sound settings.

    Step2.Go to Input,

    Step3.In Choose a device for speaking or recording, select your mic. If you don’t see your mic here, select Add device to pair it;

    Step4.Next to Volume, make sure your mic is unmuted.

    4.To use your mic in Teams, you might need to change privacy settings on your device or on the web to give Teams access to it. This document points out how to check privacy settings.
