Move Shared mailbox to existing user without mailbox

looking for best way to take a shared mailbox that belongs to a user and moving it back to the users AD account which still exists without a mailbox

user account - no mailbox

shared mailbox- same alias and name as the ad account

    Do you want to connect the shared mailbox to the new AD user and use it as a usermailbox?

    You can try to disable your shared mailbox and then reconnect it to another AD user but the status of this AD user is disabled.
