How to change the name of the URL of a Team in Sharepoint?

I named a Team "TeamA" and then added a channel called "ChannelX" and for some reason the Sharepoint URL is the channel name? Worse, I deleted that channel, so the URL is completely arbitrary now. Why can't the Sharepoint URL be the same as the Team name and how can I change the URL?

To change the name of the URL of a Team in SharePoint, you can follow these steps:

Go to the SharePoint admin center and select Active sites.

Select the site you want to rename and click Edit.

Change the site name and address as you wish and click Save.

Interesting. I never use Sharepoint and this entire Team was built in Teams so it's odd it cannot be managed in the place where it was created. What a convoluted infrastructure. So weird the sharepoint URL picked a name on it's own volition randomly from a channel name.

Sadly I don't have permission to access the sharepoint URL you listed. I guess I should accept we have no communication structure and we suffer in MS chaos.

That URL does not work for me. It might take all day to understand how to access Sharepoint, or if I even have permissions for a Team I own. I wish we had intuitive tools and not terrible tools with bad support.

I I finally figured out how to access Sharepoint. My UI looks different. After I click the Edit button I don't see any of that.

Apparently this is not possible by owners of the content. Only IT can deal with this content. I don't know why IT is in charge of content. Oh I know. Because Microsoft has no understanding of design. Nobody told them content is not IT's responsibility. There's no way I would ever guess that.

This is by design. There are multiple admin roles in Microsoft 365, each with specific permissions. This is not the same as IT administrators. You can learn more about administrators in this document:
