SSMS latest version running the wrong script bug

When using SSMS if you have a query tab open and try to run a select top 1000 on a table a new window will pop up.

However, if by accident you close the query window before ssms executes the top 1000 query SSMS will run the script on the already opened window.

This was a rather unpleasant surprise for me.

I wonder if you already know about this problem?

Is it going to be fixed?

Possibly it will be fixed if you report it on https://feedback.azure.com/d365community/forum/04fe6ee0-3b25-ec11-b6e6-000d3a4f0da0

I say "possibly", because, as always with software development, there are priorities. But if Microsoft does not of the bug, they will certainly never fix it. At least not purposely.
