What is the shortcut to move to the LAST or FIRST email in your entire List/archive on the new Outlook 2023?

Hello,

I am writing to address an issue I have encountered while using Outlook 2023. Currently, when I open the application, the newest email appears at the top of the read pane.

However, I prefer to have my most recent email displayed at the bottom, as I utilize the bottom position for my reading pane. Previously, I attempted to use the shortcuts "Ctrl + End" or "Ctrl + Home" to navigate to the desired position, but unfortunately, they did not work as intended.

Additionally, I have noticed that using the scroll bar on the left side of the screen does not allow me to swiftly move to the opposite end of my email list. Instead, it seems to preload the next set of emails, which takes a considerable amount of time, possibly around 5 days' worth of email archives. Given that my emails date back to 2017, attempting to reach the most recent email at the bottom of the ascending list through this method would be a time-consuming task, potentially taking hours.

Although I can skip a significant number of emails by using the "End" button, it is not an ideal solution for my needs. Instead, I am seeking a shortcut that would allow me to select the newest or oldest email in my list efficiently. Despite my efforts to select the most recent email and change the sorting method, it does not maintain the desired focus.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide to resolve this matter. Please let me know if there are any alternative methods or adjustments I can make to achieve my desired email display configuration and enable swift navigation within my email list.

Thank you for your attention and support.

    Hi @Giuseppe ,

    Welcome to our forum!

What do you mean about "new Outlook 2023"? Is it New Outlook for Windows when you turn on New Outlook button?

Previously, I attempted to use the shortcuts "Ctrl + End" or "Ctrl + Home" to navigate to the desired position, but unfortunately, they did not work as intended.

If so, based on my test in New Outlook for Windows, i can use "Ctrl + Home" and "Ctrl + End" to select the first or the last email in the emails list (include Archive folder). Please try to repair your Office programs and check if you can do this.

Additionally, I have noticed that using the scroll bar on the left side of the screen does not allow me to swiftly move to the opposite end of my email list.

What do you mean about the croll bar on the left side of the screen? If possible, please provide a screenshot of it for our better research. (To avoid your privacy leakage, please remember to hide your personal information.)

I have exactly the same issue and it's very annoying!

In fact, on the "old outlook" we had this feature (see little arrow on the top right of this image pointing at the bottom)
    User's image

    User's image

Now it's impossible to sort correctly all the messages. i have 4 accounts, sometimes an account have more than 15.000 emails... and with the new outlook it's impossible to display them as you want. The newest arrives each time at the top and outlook do not save your last display.

Plz do something to fix this :)
