Disable IPv6 just for web browsers, not OS?

Hi all - We need to block our web browsers (Chrome/FireFox/Edge) from using IPv6 protocol. Everything I've seen is to disable IPV6 at the Windows OS level. (Doing this by going into Windows TCP/IP network settings and unchecking the option.) However we can't disable IPV6 at the OS level since we have other business apps (not browsers) that use IPv6.

Anyone know how to disable IPv6 in the browser, but leave it available for all else at the OS level?

    Hello @Courtney Regan !

I understand you need to block IPv6 for specific browsers and not on OS level

one suggestion is to use the Windows Advanced Firewall Rules

    here is my example :

    User's image

    User's image

Create a new Outbound rule , Custom Rule , Select the exe file of the Browser and if you want the source or destination endpoints !

    that simple!

Let me know if you need more details!

    I hope this helps!

    Folks,

Thanks for all the suggestions, but we've come to the solution of just disabling IPv6 on the PCs. It's a more surefire way given the timeline we have to implement.
