Notify a SharePoint group that I uploaded a file

I am a SharePoint site owner. I created a SP group. I uploaded a document to a SP document library. I missed the "Notify my Team" button on the initial upload. I now want to notify the members of a SharePoint Group (NOT an Outlook mail group - the SP group that I created in SP) that they can come access this file.

If I try to use the ... Share or ... Copy Link option on the document, my SharePoint Group is not a valid option to send to. I only see "Groups" that are defined as e-mail distributions on our Exchange server. How do I send to the group that I created?

    Hi @Dom ,

    Thanks for your response.

    I know your situation.

You can first remove the permission of this group on the file, and then grant it again, so that they will receive the mail containing the file link.

If you want a more perfect solution, you can go to feedback on this issue. This is the best platform to let us hear from you and make our products and services better for you and others. The more votes, the easier it is to be seen. Hope the problem can be resolved soon.

    Hi @Dom ,

Because you created a group in the SharePoint site, this group does not have an email address.

If you are SharePoint admin or Global admin,

It is recommended that you go to the SharePoint admin center to create a group, and then add the member to it. This group has an email address.

    05254

If you are not an admin, you can grant the appropriate permissions to the group for this library. When you grant permissions, check Send an email invitation, so that the members in the group will receive an email.

    05255

    The email like this:

    05256

Of course, you can also just right-click on the file you uploaded, select Manage access-->Advanced, and then follow the above steps to grant permissions, so that they will receive the email you shared the file with.
