Unable to upload a file and move to different chats

Hello,

I am frequently uploading larger videos (1GB +) into a teams channel. However while the file is uploading I am unable to navigate away from that teams channel. If I do the upload stops and I have to start over. Is there a solution to this?

According to your description, do you mean you cannot leave this upload page when you upload files in Teams channel?

As a workaround, you could try to visit the SharePoint Online Site and upload the file to see if this issue can be reproduced.

According to your description, do you mean you cannot leave this upload page when you upload files in Teams channel? Yes that is correct. If I leave the teams channel and go to a chat group while a video is uploading it will stop

As a workaround, you could try to visit the SharePoint Online Site and upload the file to see if this issue can be reproduced? Unfortunately I don't have access to my companies main SharePoint site to upload them from there so I am unable to test that

It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the Teams desktop app.

One possible solution is to try uploading the video through the Teams web app instead, as this may allow you to navigate away from the channel while the upload is in progress. To do this, open Teams in your web browser and navigate to the channel where you want to upload the video. Then, click on the "Files" tab and select "Upload" to select the video file from your computer.

Another option is to try uploading the video outside of Teams and then sharing the link to the video in the channel. This may be a more reliable way to share large files.
