I cannot attest to using a dock but we have the same environment with many Dell devices that don't have Nic ports. We use the USB-C dongle to ethernet and it works just fine and have had no issues. We do make sure to enable boot from USB in the BIOS but other than that it has been a great success!
Dell Latitude Dock WD19 WinPE Media disconnected
We bought for the first time Dell Latitude without Ethernet port.
We use our docks WD19 to deploy them.
We change nothing in BIOS
But deployment failed.
F8 show that there is a network problem : Media disconnected.
When we boot on a generic WinPE, we got an IP address (saw with ipconfig)
But if we wait 2 minutes and do ipconfig again we got : Media disconnected.
We used ADK 11 and the WinPE11.0-Drivers-A00-5DWN3.CAB from Dell to build our Generic WinPE
BIOS is very complexe to understand.
Is there modifications to do before using WD19 ?
Because I tried with a HP USB-C Ethernet Adaptor and I got no problems !
Thank you for your help.
Ludovic.
