    You can back up SQL Server VMs using two methods.
    For Single SQL Server Azure VM, you can enable backup on your SQL Server VM from the Backup pane in the VM. This method registers the SQL VM with the Azure Backup service to give it access and autoprotects all the SQL Server instances running inside the VM.
    For Multiple SQL Server Azure VMs, you can set up a Recovery Services vault and configure backup for multiple VMs.

    You can also back up a SQL Server database that’s running on an Azure VM to an Azure Backup Recovery Services vault. In this article, you’ll learn how to create and configure a vault, discover databases and set up backups.
