AADSTS50020: User account '******@domain.com' from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant '<old tenant name>' and cannot access the application '5e3ce6c0-2b1f-4285-8d4b-75ee78787346'(Microsoft Teams Web Client) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account.

We're to delete and old Azure account that used to have our domain.com assigned to it. We're doing this because we want to use Teams free level but cannot do it whilst the domain is part of the Azure Tenant. We tried removing the domains with no luck, and slowly trying to delete the account with no luck (the tenant is stuck saying subscriptions are active even though tye are clear). Microsoft support is no longer responding to our questions.

Is the above related to the tenant or another issue?

    Hi @S T

It seems that the error message is a Azure AD login error. This article gives an explanation of the issue:

It recommends you delete your Teams client cache as the following steps:

Fully exit the Microsoft Teams desktop client. To do this, either right click Teams from the Icon Tray and select ‘Quit’. Or run Task Manager and fully kill the process.

Go to File Explorer, and type in %appdata%\Microsoft\teams.

Once in the directory, delete any file in the following folders:
    %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache
    %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage
    %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache
    %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\databases
    %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\GPUcache
    %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\IndexedDB
    %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage
    %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\tmp
If it is no luck after that, you could uninstall and reinstall the Microsoft Teams client and have a try.
