Can't access DevOps Organization

I created an azure devops organization with a different account, and I have added this account as a user in the organization settings. However, when I try to access the organization using the other account I have been given access to, I get an error saying "401 - Uh-oh, you do not have access..." The access has been given and I have even gotten the confirmation email in the inbox of the account that I have given access to and when I try to use the link from that email I still get that same error. I have a feeling that it may be because the account that I am using that owns the organization is a university account and the account that I added as a user to the organization is a personal account but I wasn't sure why that would be an issue. Any help on this would be great, thanks.
