An additional option is to make free backup images and save the images to another disk drive or the cloud.

Then clean install Windows 11 instead of performing an upgrade.

Test drive Windows 11 for a few days and decide whether there is satisfactory performance, reliability, and security.

If you're not satisfied with Windows 11 then restore the Windows 10 image and reevaluate sometime before October 2025.

I advise you to download and run the PC Health Check which is:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how-to-use-the-pc-health-check-app-9c8abd9b-03ba-4e67-81ef-36f37caa7844

It will scan and tells you if your device is compatible with Windows 11 and if it might run in any issue.

According to the Dell website the Inspiron 3593 supports Windows 11.

Computer lags can be multifactorial: operating system, drivers, BIOS, software, etc.

There are third party software / websites that can test computer performance:

It is best to make free backup images so that you can perform trial and error steps.

(These are some third party software: Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Macrium, Paragon, etc.)

When Windows 10 is upgraded to Windows 11 there is a default 10 day go back period.

This 10 day period can be modified to 60 days.

Once the Windows.old that had been created during the upgrade is automatically deleted a clean install is required to return to Windows 10 unless there is a backup image.
