Hi everyone, i have a little issue here.
It turns out i have a Server Dell PowerEdge R640 with Windows Server 2016 License.
I want to install in the server roles section the hyper-v.
The problem is I do not see the Hyper-V Server Role when Server Roles window appear to check it and install it.
I am following this tutorial to install Hyper-V: https://www.rootusers.com/windows-server-2016-hyper-v-installation-guide/
but got stuck when i did not see hyper-v.
Currently I have this view:
Does anyone know how i can solve this and what is happening?

Seems badly broken, so I'd probably clean install it, but as a work-around you can install the role via PowerShell.

Hi!, i tried your solution and it throws me "the system cannot find the path specified."
If it were me I'd want to get it clean and stable before adding hyper-v role. I'd suggest clean installing the operating system, patch it fully, then install the hyper-v role.

I'll try it but as i am new on this, i do not know how to do that.
It's quite simple to do. Boot from the install media then when you get to this point delete existing partitions and continue the install.
after installation turn on windows automatic updating, let it update to current SSU and cumulative update then you can add the hyper-v role and continue on with builds.

If i do that, is there any risk that the windows server 2016 license deletes itself?
Not sure what is meant, after installation you'll just need to active it again.

The server has no important data, only thing worries me is the license getting erased, but as you said, it can be activated again.

It worked!, but i had to run the setup.exe because it gave me some errors, but in the end worked, of course i have to clean everything even the license deleted.
But i guess i can activate it again with your command above, right?

From the screenshot, the server roles and features are seriously missing, it seems your system is corrupted.
It's recommended to do an in-place with Server 2016, then install Hyper V. To do an in-place upgrade, insert Server 2016 ISO, in the File explorer, click "Setup.exe", then follow the instructions and select "Keep personal files and apps".

Hi, I am new on this, so i do not know how to do an in-place upgrade, I tried to download Windows Server 2016 iso from microsoft official page but it only gives me the trial version.
And second question is:
Yes, you can run setup.exe from the root of install media but in my opinion not recommended. If server OS is broken better to start with a clean state.
