Hello,

We have configured High Availability Server to migration from one old server 2012R2 primary site to a new one W2022.

OLD : Server OLD

NEW : Server NEW

Steps :

  1. Install Passive Server to Server NEW
  2. Migrate all roles from Server OLD to Server NEW
  3. Promote Server NEW as Active Server
  4. Remove Site Server Role on Server OLD

Now : The old server has still 3 roles :

  • Component Server
  • Site System
  • SMS Provider ( it's the issue ! )

Now, i cannot remove SMS Provider on the Server OLD because when i start ConfigMgr Setup, i can only create a new primary Site.

Is someone know how to uninstall completely SMS Provider without reinstalling Site Server role on OLD Server ?

Thanks

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Where are you running the setup, on the server NEW or the server OLD?

Please run the setup on the server NEW to have a try, the options for Perform site maintenance or reset this site on the server OLD may be greyed out.

Also we can check the ConfigMgrSetupWizard.log and ConfigMgrSetup.log to see if there is any error.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon
