Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to configure an Availability Zone for an already deployed Virtual Machine and then add it to an Azure Site Recovery configuration?
If so, how can I modify the Availability Zone for a VM that has already been deployed and installed?

An Azure service that is used to provision Windows and Linux virtual machines.

You cannot modify the Availability Zone that a VM is in after it has been created.

You cannot change your Availability Zone but if you want you can migrate your VM by using backup/restore option or even maybe by using Azure Site Recovery service

To be honest, the only way I imagined is :
3)Create new disks from Snapshot disks
4) Delete old VM (not Network)
5) Recreate VM with disks from Snapshot and reuse the same NIC

Can you give me more information about these 2 possible solutions you propose?
The only idea I had was :
Snapshot disks of the VM
Snapshot of the VM (for security)
Create new disks from the Snapshot disks
Delete old VM
Create new VM with new disks and old NIC in AZ
Hi Schinas I just try to give an example method to migrate your solution actually you have your own way also and also taking snapshots can be cunted under the backup/restore strategies
The other method (using Azure Site Recovery service) is a more complex method and it is generally more valid if cannot stop your instance or you cannot handle data loss between take and restoring snapshot
