Hi,

We are running a cluster and using Veeam and Altaro backup software.

I am facing an issue on my "Windows server (2016) running Exchange server 2016" backup that both software created a snapshot (AVHDX) and the old snapshot (AVHDX) was not deleted.

My exchange server is running in the DAG environment. 2nd Exchange server backup is working fine and the snapshot (AVHDX) merges after the backup.

Question: Why does only one VM create lots of snapshots and the rest of the VMs are working fine? currently 23 snapshots (AVHDX) on each drive.

    Hi @Shoaib Nawaz ,

Based on your description, it looks like your problem may be that your backup software backs up the DAG server where the active copies exists.

According to https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/dag_hiw.html?ver=120, you can try setting up only backup passive copies.
