How to copy and paste attachments into updated Outlook?

I recently updated my version of Outlook to Version 1.2023.526.100. When composing emails or creating meetings, I often copy and paste files (PDFs, Word docs, etc.) from one email to another, from my desktop to an email, etc. However, that motion is not working for me in the latest update. Attachments no longer give me the option to copy them, and Ctrl-C also does nothing.

Am I missing something? I'll be very sad if that ability has been permanently removed; manually inserting attachments is much more time-consuming than a simple copy-paste. Thanks for your help!

    Hello,

if a Microsoft 365 application such as Word or Excel is not working properly, sometimes restarting it can fix the problem. If that fails, you can try to repair the application. After completing this process, you may need to restart your computer.

    1. Right-click the Start Windows button in Windows 8 and Windows 10 (bottom left), and select Apps and Features from the pop-up menu.
    2. Select the Microsoft Office product you want to repair and choose Change.
    3. Depending on whether your copy of Office is a click-and-lose or MSI-based installation, you will see the following options for how to proceed. Follow the steps for your installation type.

    Click-and-Lose

In the How do you want to repair your Office programs? window, select Online Repair > Repair to ensure that everything is repaired. (The Quick Repair option is also available, which runs faster, but only detects damaged files and then replaces them).

    MSI-based

In Change installationOption, select Repair, and then click Next.

    1. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the repair.

I was able to figure this out with help from my company's IT support--my troubles were caused by using the browser version rather than my usual desktop version! The functionalities were restored as soon as I switched back to the desktop version.

We also tried to activate the new Outlook toggle for users. In addition to the copy paste issue, we also couldn't have the calendrer showing weeks number, and couldn't have the shared mailboxes listed in the left pane.

I reported this as a feedback to the Microsoft support when I toggled back to the older version.
