I am using windows server OS 2012, will it be fine if upgrade my operating system to 2019 and then delete files in C:\windows\Installer folder ? We are running out of c:\drive space and we feel to clear this off. I believe this deletion will not impact the upgraded machine, since all patches and other windows executables will be a part of the newer operating system. Please suggest.

The much simpler / safer / cleaner method is to stand up the new one, patch fully, license it, migrate the roles over and move on.

    Hello there,

The C:\Windows\Installer folder is where some but not all applications uninstall files and folders are stored. If you want to remove applications, use the Control Panel Programs and Features to uninstall them. It is also possible to run Disk Cleanup (cleanmgr.exe) in elevated mode to help free up space.

Windows Installer folder contains important files for the accurate run of the system. If you delete these files, you can't work with your PC. Actually, you should never delete the contents of the C:\Windows\Installer folder randomly.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
