I wanna download Teams support files by the following steps.

Go to Windows Tray -> right-click Teams -> click "Collect support files".

Usually, there are many files to be downloaded in one folder in C:\Users<user>\Downloads.

But recently only one file will be downloaded and other files just are tmp files waiting the Windows user to decide whether to save them.

I found an method that clearing Teams cache can work but just only work once. When Teams was launched twice. the problem was still there. Also I have tried to download the latest Teams, But after a weekend, the problem appeared again.

BTW, my env is win11 and the latest Teams (work and school) downloaded from Teams official website.

    Hi @Heng Xu (徐珩)

Thanks for your sharing, glad to see it is resolved.

However, due to a recent update in forum policy, the question author now is not able to accept their own answers.

So, I have written a brief summary of the solution this issue. Please feel free to accept it as the answer, which would benefit others who also has similar issues in forum.

    Issue:

Collect Teams support files can only download one file with the actual file type, while the others are .tmp files.

    Solution:

I used to download Teams on VDA and the VDI version of Teams is going to be downloaded. So I try to connect the device directly and redownloaded and reinstalled Teams. I get the Windows version of Teams now. Everything seems good now.

    Hi

Based on my tests, didn't reproduce your issue. When I download it, the path shown is as follows:

Here are a few ways to troubleshoot this issue:

    • Delete all files and folders in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams directory. Then clear your sign-in credentials and sign back into Teams.
    • Check the space on your hardware disk to meet the Teams hardware requirements.
    • You try downloading a different folder to check if there is the same problem.
    • Check the location of the file download in Teams settings.
