Is it possible to track Powerbi consumption/usage in Microsoft Purview?
In the properties tab (or any additional one) to be able to view the report opening statistics

  • who saw the report,
    -how many people used it,
    -how many people opened it,
-whether the report was opened on a mobile phone or from a website/desktop
and similar statistics, which we have available in powerbi
  1. Is there currently a feature/possibility to see the above with Powerbi report in Purview?
  2. Is it possible that in the future there will be such a new tab with the use and consumption of the report?

    Hi Karolina Gora ,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A platform and thanks for posting your question.

I understand you want to know if it is possible to track Powerbi consumption in Microsoft Purview or not.

At the moment, Microsoft Purview does not have a built-in feature to track Power BI consumption/usage statistics such as who saw the report, how many people used it and other insights.

However, you can use the Power BI audit logs to track the usage and consumption of Power BI reports. The Power BI audit logs provide detailed information about user activity in Power BI, including report views, report interactions, and data refreshes.

To use the Power BI audit logs, you need to enable auditing in Power BI and configure the audit log settings. Once auditing is enabled, you can access the audit logs in the Power BI service or export them to Azure Log Analytics or Azure Event Hubs for further analysis.

Hope it helps. Kindly accept the answer if it's helpful. Thankyou
