We were using Office Home & Business 2019 on Mac Ventura, removed it from the machine and installed Microsoft 365. Since, we installed Microsoft 365, the cursor jumps across the document on Word. How can we resolve it//

    Hi @workforce45,

Firstly, please make sure you have installed the latest Office. Go to File >> Account >> Update Options >> Update now.

    User's image

Also, using Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

If the issue persists, you can try resetting Word to default settings. Here are the steps to do so:

    1. Quit all Microsoft Office applications.
    2. In Finder, click on the "Go" menu and select "Go to Folder..."
    3. In the dialogue box, type "~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Word" and hit "Go".
    4. Rename the "com.microsoft.Word" folder to "com.microsoft.Word.backup".
    5. Restart Microsoft Word.

Please let me know if above troubleshooting steps help in this case.

    Thank you for an input!

We followed a process for resetting Word mentioned below and tested the machine in a Safe Boot.

    Reset Microsoft Word
    Quit all Office applications.
Open Finder and go to >> Macintosh HD/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Templates, move Normal.dotm to Desktop.
Go to >> Macintosh HD/Users/{Username}/Library/Preferences, located the files com.microsoft.Word.plist and com.microsoft.Office.plist, move them to the Desktop.

Restarted the Mac in a Safe Boot and tested the application.

To boot into Safe mode, shut down your Mac, then hold Shift while powering it back on.

The issue got resolved and we have also tested it on a normal mode.
