difference between using the "draw region" and "selecting words" during labeling

what is the difference between using the "draw region" and selecting words? I think the draw region allows to increase the reading area, right? I've read that if the "draw region" is used, the reading is positional, and therefore not suitable in dynamic models. If, on the other hand, reading and performance are the same, it would be useful to know.

Hi @Fabio Pulina , Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A Platform.

Basically, you can use the shift select method to speed up the labeling process and ensure that you don't miss any words in the span of text. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/applied-ai-services/form-recognizer/concept-custom-label-tips?view=form-recog-3.0.0#shift-select

Alternatively, you can use region labeling to label larger spans of text. But with the region labeling, the OCR results are populated in the value at training time instead during labeling time. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/applied-ai-services/form-recognizer/concept-custom-label-tips?view=form-recog-3.0.0#region-labeling

The only difference between the shift select and region labeling methods is in the visual feedback.

Both methods can be useful depending on the specific use case and the amount of text that needs to be labeled. So, you can try both methods to determine which one works best for your use case.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Vasavi
