Running chkdsk on large volume

Hi folks,

we are having issues running chkdsk on our disks. Our system looks like this:

  • Windows Server 2016
  • 6TB Disk (NTFS filesystem)

The disk is part of a Windows Failover Cluster and says "scan needed" within Failover Cluster Manager and when running "Get-Volume" command.

We try to run "chkdsk /scan" command, but it takes for ages.

It is running for almost a week already. It is at stage 2 at the moment, the ETA shows 100 hours to go, but this time is increasing instead of going down.

What can we do here?

Chkdsk seems not to be capable for such big disks. Is there an alternative? Or how can we speed up the process?

Thanks
