Map zooming out and back in unnecessarily

Hi,

I have a map featuring locations of employees and I have a table showing more detail on the same. The employees are structured by patches to help geographical filtering. I've had this report set up working absolutely fine with the regular map, which has now converted to Azure Map - which ruined filtering.

Previously as I was flicking between the 'patches' the map would follow suit, displaying only the employees within that patch, moving to relevant bit of the UK (all employees location are in there). Now when I select a patch, the map zooms out completely to world view, all dots disappear for a few seconds, then the dots representing employees reappear and it zooms in to correct patch.

This is rather frustrating when flicking between patches as it will always zoom out and back in, giving not a pleasant experience to report users. The previous map didn't do this!

A few weeks ago when I opened the report in editor it asked me if I wanted to switch over to this new Azure Map so I did, but I can't even go back to fix it. I've tried every option available to prevent this zooming nonsense and the only thing that works is turning off auto-zoom, but with that I lose visibility of the relevant bits as it's so zoomed out.

Any suggestions please?

Thank you

    Hi @Tom Walch ,

Thank you for letting us. We are able to reproduce the issue, and investigating the options of the fixes.

Will let you know which Power BI release train we can catch so you may verify

Have you taken a look at the "Auto Zoom" option in the Map settings? Disabling that will prevent it from change views when the data changes and you can hard code a specific location you want loaded.

That said, the Azure Maps visual shouldn't zoom out to world view when the data changes/is filtered. I just tried it and when using filters to change what is displayed and with Auto zoom on, the map isn't zooming out to world level. The only time it should do that is if there is a period where there is no data selected for a moment, or if your data is spread out globally.
