We have 3 Windows Server 2019 servers in three different physical locations. In trying to troubleshoot an issue. We are trying to look at who has open files on the server. The server is the Primary DC running all of the FSMO roles. I am trying to view open files locally on this DC server. The files are on the server and the users are logging on to the server. We are using Remote Desktop Services on the server and publishing an Access Database.
When I go to computer management and expand the Shared folders and then open files. I can't see who has files open on the server. Is it only possible to see who has files open if the folder is shared? The users are accessing the files locally on the server when logging in with Remote desktop services.
I was under the impression that I would be able to see all open files even if the user has it opened locally without the folder being shared.
Please help.
Thanks
