Hi,

Any application freezes when printing, I have done a lot of troubleshooting but it didn't resolve the issue.

  • WIndows 11 update
  • PRinter Troubleshooter
  • Disabled Endpoint
  • Re-install related driver, printer.
  • Enabled "Configure RPC connection settings".

It sometimes works when I have to close all apps and re-open. Need answers on how to resolved the issue permanently.

Hi BBS If you have already tried various troubleshooting steps to address application freezes when printing, but the issue persists, here are some additional suggestions to help resolve the problem permanently:

Update printer drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause printing-related issues. Visit the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers specifically designed for your printer model and Windows 11.

Check for software conflicts: Sometimes, conflicts with other software installed on your computer can cause freezing issues when printing. Try temporarily disabling or uninstalling any recently installed or suspicious software and see if the problem persists. You can also try performing a clean boot to start your computer with minimal software and services to identify any conflicts.

Check printer settings: Verify that the printer settings are correctly configured. Ensure that the correct printer is selected as the default printer, and check the printer properties for any specific settings that might be causing conflicts or freezes.

Clear printer queue: Print jobs stuck in the print queue can sometimes lead to freezing issues. Clear the print queue by following these steps: a. Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. b. Type "services.msc" (without quotes) and press Enter. c. In the Services window, scroll down and locate the "Print Spooler" service. d. Right-click on "Print Spooler" and select "Stop" from the context menu. e. Minimize the Services window but keep it open. f. Open File Explorer and navigate to the following folder:

    C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS

    g. Delete all the files in the PRINTERS folder. h. Maximize the Services window again, right-click on "Print Spooler," and select "Start" from the context menu.

Perform a system file check: Corrupted system files can cause various issues, including printing freezes. Run a system file check to scan for and repair any corrupted system files. Open Command Prompt as administrator and execute the following command:

    sfc /scannow

Update Windows 11: Make sure your Windows 11 installation is up to date. Microsoft regularly releases updates that contain bug fixes and improvements, which could address the freezing issue you are experiencing. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any available updates.

Contact printer support: If none of the above solutions resolves the problem, it may be helpful to reach out to the printer manufacturer's support team. They can provide specific guidance and troubleshooting steps based on your printer model and the issues you're encountering.
