Hello, can you help me?

We are trying to upgrade (without losing files and apps) a Windows Server 2016

virtual machine to Windows Server 2022.

The license type is ServerStandard (OEM_COA_NSLP)

The command DISM /Online /Get-CurrentEdition replies with:

"Current Edition : ServerStandard".

Running the command DISM /Online /Get-TargetEditions

the system replies saying: "Target Edition : ServerDatacenter"

So we can upgrade only to DataCenter edition...

The license we bought is 2022 ServerStandard.

When we try to install it, the option to maintain the installed software

is greyed out: is there a way to bypass this problem?

Thank you very much.

You cannot use evaluation media to perform an in-place upgrade, only licensed media can be used.
