How to disable remote audio in Azure Windows VM

on the bottom right of my screen is the speaker. Seems like the default option is always 100% on. I'd like the default to be 100% off.

I'm running a Windows VM on Azure. My client is an RDP connection to my Mac OS.

Thought this was easy to find...but I'm missing something.

    Hi Jgc

    Try the below steps:

    1. Connect to your Azure VM using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).
    2. Once connected to the VM, open the "Remote Desktop Connection" settings. You can do this by clicking on the "Start" button, typing "Remote Desktop Connection," and selecting the app from the search results.
    3. In the "Remote Desktop Connection" window, click on the "Show Options" button to reveal additional settings.
    4. Navigate to the "Local Resources" tab.
    5. In the "Remote audio" section, select the "Settings" button.
    6. In the "Remote Audio Playback" dialog box, choose the option "Play on this computer" to disable remote audio playback.
    7. Click "OK" to close the "Remote Audio Playback" dialog box.
    8. Back in the "Local Resources" tab, ensure that the "Remote audio" setting is set to "Do not play" to completely disable remote audio redirection.
    9. Click the "Connect" button to establish a new RDP session with the updated settings.

    Hello there,

First of all, windows server does not give you the capabilities of audio at provisioning both on-premises and in Azure. But you can still get audio services from your windows server.

    1. open Server Manager , click on Tools in the top right of the window and select Services.
    2. In the right pane of Services, scroll down to Windows Audio and double click on it.
    3. In Windows Audio Properties, change Startup Type to Automatic and click on Start under Service Status. Once done, click OK.

Hope this resolves your Query !!
