Cannot acces share remotely.

I was trying to access a share on another computer but it says I don't have permission. But I can access the folder that the share is pointed at. This doesn't make sense to me.

The exact error message is:

Network Error

Windows cannot access \xxxxxxx\Documents

You do not have permission to access \xxxxxxx\Documents. Contact you network administrator to request access.

Can anyone explain why this is happening?

    I figured out the problem. Dumb mistake. I had multiple Documents folders and the share was pointed at the wrong one. When I removed the share and created a new share on the correct folder it is working as expected.

    Make sure you are sharing the folder you actually want to share. And there may be several folders with the same name on your PC.
