Windows notification spam

I am using an Acer Aspire laptop running Windows 11.

The computer showed several notifications saying it is infected by a virus. "Your Computer Is Infected... Eliminate possible threats now..." "PC Is At Risk... Click Here To Renew Subscription" etc.

I have run a full virus scan using the built in Windows virus scanner, No problems reported. Therefore I believe these messages are bogus - but where are they coming from?

In Windows settings, "Notifications and actions" says I am getting notifications from "adagurous, com (via Microsoft Edge)". I can find no such app on my computer. I have also searched extensions and apps in Microsoft Edge and could find nothing there.

Can you tell me how to eliminate this adagurous.com component from my computer? Thank you.

    Hi @John Acott,

I'm not sure if you have made any operation to subscribe to this notification. You can simply refer to this document about how to block the notification for specific website:

    1. In Edge, go to Settings and more  in the upper right corner of your browser window.
    2. Select Settings  > Cookies and site permissions and select Notifications. Under Block, add this stie to list.

For more details about this setting, please refer to: Manage website notifications in Microsoft Edge

    Best regards,

    Xudong Peng
