Bing webmaster tools issue with Sitemaps section and sitemap submission

Hi,

I'm having several issues with the "Sitemaps" section of Bing Tool Webmasters:

When inserting the main "index" sitemap (the same used with other search engines), in the "Sitemaps" section, are only mentioned some of the sitemaps present in it, and was wrong both the count of the sitempas themselves and the number of URLs detected.

I then opened a ticket with Bing Technical Support and they indicated that they don't understand what the problem could be and that it is possible (and advisable) to load the secondary sitemaps directly.

I then removed the main sitemap and submitted the latter.

Since then, I have been experiencing constant anomalies (all also reported in the open ticket), namely:

  • there are 6 sitemaps loaded but Bing occasionally indicates 7 as the value of the "Known sitemaps";
  • occasionally some sitemaps disappear from the list: today, for example, there are 5 of them;
  • other times, when the value of "Known sitemaps" turns out to be correct, the value of "Total URLs discovered" turns out to be incorrect (by carrying out checks, it turns out that several times it has counted the URLs present in a given sitemap twice);

Worst of all, I've been opening a ticket for a month with the Bing Tech Support: they can't understand the causes of the problems and often give erroneous feedback. Almost always the answer is "We have investigated your query and escalated issue to our engineering team, and we will inform you once we get the response." only to receive no response.

Thanks in advance if anyone can give me more info on this.

Best regards
