Hello,

Could you please help me in finding answers for following questions ?

  1. Do we need to raise SLA credit refund request if Azure breaches its SLA for an service? I believe Microsoft would be doing it and there is no need to raise request and ask for refund.
  2. If we have configured alerts for Service Health, we can have those alerts generating tickets into our ticketing tool SNOW ?
  3. Can we convert Reserved Instances (RIs) into Saving plan without any penalty?
  4. Is it true that Azure Advisor doesn't take into to the account the RIs and Saving Plans already purchased while generating recommendations?
  5. When would Azure Advisor would take into consideration the EA discounts in its cost/saving calculations? It seems it doesn't do that today.
  6. Is it possible to make Azure Advisor generate VM rightsizing recommendations based on CPU, Memory and Network throughput?

Sorry for too many questions.

Applicate your Response. Thank you!!

    Hi anil kumar

    Please find the answers below

    1. Do we need to raise SLA credit refund request if Azure breaches its SLA for an service? I believe Microsoft would be doing it and there is no need to raise request and ask for refund.
      • If Azure breaches its SLA for a service, Microsoft will automatically issue SLA credits to eligible customers. You do not need to raise a request or ask for a refund. The SLA credits will be automatically applied to your account.
    2. If we have configured alerts for Service Health, we can have those alerts generating tickets into our ticketing tool SNOW ?
      • Yes, you can configure alerts for Service Health in Azure and have those alerts generate tickets in your ticketing tool, such as SNOW. You can use Azure Monitor to create alerts based on Service Health events and configure the alert to send an email or create a ticket in your ticketing tool.
    3. Can we convert Reserved Instances (RIs) into Saving plan without any penalty?
      • Yes, you can convert Reserved Instances (RIs) into Savings Plans without any penalty. You can do this by exchanging your existing RIs for a new Savings Plan. The exchange rate will depend on the remaining term and value of your existing RIs.
    4. Is it true that Azure Advisor doesn't take into to the account the RIs and Saving Plans already purchased while generating recommendations?
      • Azure Advisor does take into account Reserved Instances (RIs) and Savings Plans when generating recommendations. However, it may take some time for Advisor to recognize your existing RIs and Savings Plans and incorporate them into its recommendations.
    5. When would Azure Advisor would take into consideration the EA discounts in its cost/saving calculations? It seems it doesn't do that today.
      • Azure Advisor takes into consideration EA discounts in its cost/saving calculations when you enable the EA discount feature in Advisor. You can enable this feature by going to the Advisor settings and selecting the "Include EA discounts" option.
    6. Is it possible to make Azure Advisor generate VM rightsizing recommendations based on CPU, Memory and Network throughput?
      • Yes, Azure Advisor can generate VM rightsizing recommendations based on CPU, memory, and network throughput. Advisor uses machine learning algorithms to analyze your VM usage patterns and recommend the appropriate VM size based on your workload requirements.
