InTune backup best practice

Question

Is it common for InTune administrators to backup their InTune configurations/inventory themselves data, or do the hosts (Microsoft) give clients restore options within the product for the different scenarios where restoration of data/configurations from backup would be required? If it is best practice for tenants to take the initiative and backup their InTune configuration/data themselves, are there any recommendations for InTune aware products/techniques that you use, and recommendations on sensible frequency for running the backups etc?

If there is any official best practice recommendations from Microsoft themselves around InTune backups on what is expected of tenants with regards to backups, I would love to see that as a quick search didn't provide much in the way of a definitive answer. At a guess there will be limited/no restore functionality within InTune itself, and responsibility for taking backups will be with the tenant.

Also of interest, under what kind of scenarios/incidents have you had to restore InTune data from the backups (assuming you take them), if ever? And what specifically did you restore from the backups?

Honestly, there is no microsoft official article about backup intune. And intune's backup is not automatically, it needs the company IT to do it manually.

Based on my understanding, I don't think backing up intune is a necessary behavior. If it is to avoid errors, an intune test environment is better.
