Hello,

I am currently in the process of trying to download the latest (security) updates for Windows 10 Pro Version 1909. Which hasn't been updated since 2019.

The updates will be made offline, so I am using the Microsoft Update Catalog to get the following:

  • KB5027215
  • KB5005260 (above's prerequisite)

Now, KB5005260 doesn't have any prerequisites and the catalog suggests that it supports 1903 and later versions.

So, will these two updates take my 1909 version to 21H2 and work with no problems, or am I missing something?

Many thanks

    Hello Konrad Kantorski,

Windows 10 1909 has already reached its end of support on May 11, 2021, you should check if the latest SSU are installled then upgrade your Windows 10 1909 devices to 22H2 directly. You can use Windows Servicing feature to deploy Windows 10, version 22H2 feature update using SCCM / ConfigMgr. For more details:

** For the feature update, you can use either to upgrade to Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 22H2, it depends on the requirements of your clients.

    21H2 reached EOS

1909 and 21H2 are different builds, you cannot upgrade from 1909 version to later versions using updates, you must do full in-place upgrade
