Yes, our company has the same problem, not only the above, but also affected some Java systems, such as Oracle, looking forward to a solution.

    Hello there,

Is there anything in event viewer?

I would suggest you to use proc mon to identify if there is nothing on the event viewer.

Make sure you have the latest version of the affected applications installed. Software updates often include bug fixes and compatibility improvements that can resolve issues with new Windows updates.

Run the applications in compatibility mode: Right-click on the .exe file, go to Properties, and navigate to the Compatibility tab. Enable the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" option and choose a previous version of Windows that was compatible with the application. Apply the changes and try running the .exe file again.

Hope this resolves your Query !!

Having the same problem - I thought I was just unlucky or it was a firewall or app guard blocking those EXEs. I did find out that if you just copy the EXE into the same folder (call it 'Excel2.exe' or something), that copy works and the apps function normally. But the original EXE still does not work. That makes no sense.

Uninstall the update has been the only thing to fix it so far for us.

I have the same problem. Some legacy exe's will not start, specifically AutoCad. My WIN10 is Version 2004 and apparently Microsoft updates attempted to install KB5027215. which looking at the update catalog, there isn't a KB5027215 for Version 2004. I tried to uninstall it, but the uninstaller fails. Now I'm stuck and can't run my everyday legacy apps I've been driving for years. Everything worked a few weeks ago, now it's broke. I'm not positive it's KB5027215, but referring to other posts, my problems appear the same.

What now? I need my legacy apps back to get to all my existing work.

    Bob
