Hello, is it possible for me to move from DP-900 straight to AZ-104? I do not want the DevOps one I want the solutions architect one. I already obtained DP-900.

    Hi Pabi,

Sure, you can prepare for and take AZ-104 exam if you want. There are no prerequisites for AZ-104. Some people prefer to pass AZ-900 exam before AZ-104, but it is not required.

Please click Accept Answer if above was useful.

    Thanks.

Hello, @Pabi Makgopa ! While it's recommended that you take AZ-900 before AZ-104, it's not required. I'll explain below.

Do I need to take AZ-900 or any other prerequisites for AZ-104?

There are 3 Azure certifications at the fundamentals level: AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals), DP-900 (Azure Data Fundamentals), and AI-900 (Azure AI Fundamentals). All of these fundamentals courses are recommended for additional certifications however they are not required.

The recommended path for AZ-104 is to take AZ-900, however you can jump directly to AZ-104 if you already feel you understand the basics of Azure (and with a DP-900 certification under your belt, that could very well be the case).

Here is a certification roadmap made by K21 Academy that makes this a bit clearer (note that dotted lines are optional while solid lines are required):
