Hi,

I have windows 11 home edition. Trying to share a file over network to Azure data factory in integration run time.

I have enabled the desktop sharing in the settings

To share the file, clicked on properties but file sharing tab is not found.

How do I share the file? What I am missing here?

    Hi Balasubramanian ,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A platform and thanks for posting your question here.

From the description of your query, it seems you are facing issue while trying to use an Azure file share with Windows 11 via ADF IR. Please let me know if that is not the correct understanding.

It would be great if you could share more details like what are the steps you have followed so that it would be that what is missing here.

To use an Azure file share with Windows, you must either mount it, which means assigning it a drive letter or mount point path, or access it via its UNC path. Additionally, for windows 11 kindly make sure that the SMB version is 3.1.1 and port 445 is open.

Ensure port 445 is open: The SMB protocol requires TCP port 445 to be open. Connections will fail if port 445 is blocked. You can check if your firewall or ISP is blocking port 445 by using the Test-NetConnection cmdlet. See Port 445 is blocked.

For more details, kindly check this article: Mount SMB Azure file share on Windows

Hope it helps. Kindly accept the answer if it is helpful. Thankyou.

    hi there,

Locate the file you want to share. Right-click on the file and select "Share" from the context menu.

The Share dialog box will open. Here, you can specify the users or groups you want to share the file with. You can enter the email address of the Azure Data Factory integration runtime or select it from your contact list.

After selecting the recipient, you can choose the permissions you want to grant to them. You can select "Read" access to allow them to view the file or "Read/Write" access to enable editing.

Once you've selected the appropriate recipient and permissions, click on the "Share" button to initiate the sharing process.

Windows will send an email invitation to the recipient, granting them access to the shared file. They will be able to access the file through the email invitation or by signing in to their Microsoft account and navigating to the shared file.

    And see if it helps,

    Thank you
