How come for some people their name is added to the AAS model like xxxx_name_xxxxx when they deploy the AAS model?

It seems that for some people when they deploy an AAS model to the server their name is added to the model name like xxxxxx_name_code instead of just publishing the model name xxxxxx. Because of this there seem to be multiple model versions rather than one that is constantly updated when deploying.

Personally I do not experience this when deploying.

The behavior you are describing where a person's name is added to the AAS model name when deploying to the server is likely due to the default naming convention used by Visual Studio when deploying AAS models.

By default, Visual Studio uses the following naming convention for AAS models: "ModelName_DeveloperName_DateTime". This means that when a developer deploys an AAS model to the server, their name is added to the model name along with the date and time of deployment.

This behavior can be changed by modifying the deployment settings in Visual Studio. To do this, go to the "Properties" window for the AAS project in Visual Studio and select the "Deployment" tab. In the "Deployment Options" section, you can change the "Deployment Name" setting to use a different naming convention or to use the model name without any additional information.

If you are not experiencing this behavior when deploying AAS models, it is possible that your Visual Studio deployment settings have been modified to use a different naming convention or to exclude developer names from the model name.

@JKmag-8992 - If you are not seeing the "Model Name Suffix" option in the deployment settings of your AAS project, it's possible that the option is not available in the version of AAS that you are using. The option may have been added in a more recent version of AAS.

In order to investigate further, could you please share the details on where exactly your are seeing the above screenshot?

I see the different model names in the Azure Portal for our AAS models.
And for the settings; I've compared the project's properties of my own account to the settings of my colleague (for whom we do see the naming convention mentioned above) and those seem identical + we use the same version of Visual Studio.
