Is App Service Free

Hi,

I am a little confused.

I had a free account last month and have upgraded it to the Pay as You Go account. I am now 1 month in to this subscription.

I thought App Service was Free for 12 months.

When I go to the Portal and look at Cost Management, it shows a cost on my App Service resource. It is forcasting a £88 charge for October. I have no credit left from my 1 month Free.

Will I actually be charged or do I get 10 App Services free for the first 12 months?

If it is going to be free, why doesn't it tell me somewhere?

I have used all my $200 credit from the first 30day period of my trial.

I think I have figured out why I am being charged :). I'm playing around with Azure for simple web hosting. With the help of App Service pricing I noticed the Pricing Plan my App Service was on was Standard. This is not free. I have since changed it to the Free pricing plan from the portal. Now my forcasted costs are more what I expected.

Thanks for using Azure. You can use the free tier on App service when you create a new Azure account. With your Azure free account, you get 12 months of popular free services, $200 credit to explore Azure for 30 days and you won’t be charged until you choose to upgrade. Beyond the free amounts, you only pay for what you use each month.

Have used all of your $200 azure credit?
