Good day Microsoft experts,
With this message I am looking for your kind assistance resolving a particular issue we are facing in our Corporate environment.
As Teams becoming more and more demanding in our day-to-day business communication, the end-user are looking for more and more flexibility of its tasks.
Recently we started using the Teams channels' email addresses receive automated alerts. We figured out that some of them are missing it.
The service is well activated in Teams Admin center.
I ended up using MgGraph to have the full visibility on the Channel's attributes and I was really surprised,
under the same Teams group not all the channels are missing the email address.

I checked them out on the Teams interface and Teams admin center if the information was correct and indeed, it was.
So my questions are:

  • What could be the reason which caused this issue so we can avoid in the future?
  • is there any way to generate emails to the existing Teams channel?
Let me thank you very much in advance for your help!
I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Rumen

Issue Symptom: Teams channel is missing the email address

    Resolution:

    • no matter how the channel has been created from the Teams end-user interface or from the Teams admin center by an administrator the email address will be not be presented yet.
    • the owner of the issued Teams group has to navigate to "Get email address" on the first place, so the task will generate the email address for the channel.
    • after that the newly generated channel email address will be visible bot sites - Teams user interface and Teams Admin center.

    Hi

    Could you please tell me:
What exactly does channel missing email address mean?
If you want to check the channel email address, you can click on the three dots next to the channel name and select the Get email address option.

    I found the solution.
It seems there is a logic behind the seen which explains my case:

    • no matter how the channel has been created from the Teams end-user interface or from the Teams admin center by an administrator the email address will be not be presented yet.
    • the owner of the issued Teams group has to navigate to "Get email address" on the first place, so the task will generate the email address for the channel.
    • after that the newly generated channel email address will be visible bot sites - Teams user interface and Teams Admin center.
      Hope this will help.

    Cheers,
