Modifying styles in Microsoft Word

Good day

When I attempt to modify word styles in Microsoft Word, then the pop-up pages where you change your style take a long to respond and often give a message that the "page is not responding." The other functions work as expected.

Please assist. I believe this happened from the last update.

Here are some troubleshooting suggestions for you:

1. Repair office installation.
2. Disable Add-ins: Sometimes add-ins can cause Microsoft Word to run slowly. To disable add-ins, click on "File," then "Options," and select "Add-ins." From there, you can manage your add-ins and disable any that may be causing issues.
3. Reduce the number of styles: If you have too many styles, it can slow down Microsoft Word. Consider reducing the number of styles you use or consolidating similar styles.
4. Open Word in safe mode: To do this, open Word and hold down the "Ctrl" key while clicking on the Word icon in the taskbar. Select "Yes" when prompted to confirm resetting the preferences.

If none of these solutions work, you may need to reinstall Microsoft Word.

It has recently been reported that issues with the Modify Style dialog box have been caused by the EndNote add-in. If you are using that add-in, you may want to check with EndNote support at https://support.clarivate.com/Endnote/s/?language=en_US . This has been reported in the Microsoft Community.
